Happy Birthday to Jason!

Is he 6, 60 or 14???? Those are the ages that Lauren has said today she thinks her Daddy is. Good try Lauren! Jack and Lauren have really enjoyed celebrating Jason birthday today. They made him a menu the other day and Jason got to pick what he wanted for his birthday breakfast in bed. I had SO much help in the kitchen this morning at 7:00. Jack and Lauren helped me cut up fruit, make the french toast, pour the OJ, pick out the yougurt...the only thing they couldn't help with was making the bacon....my kitchen was a disaster afterward, but the kiddos loved "helping." Obviously, it is more fun for Jason and I to see the kids excitment for our birthdays than it is celebrating it ourselves. We can't wait for a fun dinner out tonight as well.

Happy birthday to Jason! We are all so lucky to have the best husband and daddy ever! We hope you have a terrific 34th year...or whatever age Lauren comes up with next!! We all love you very much!

The last celebration at Jane and John's

Jack's final birthday celebration was the Wednesday after Jack's birthday at Jane and John's. We had dinner and opened presents that evening at their house. We got to bring the dessert and I had two of the cutest bakers help me with the cake. But, if I heard, "Mommy, can I have another lick?" again I don't think there would have been a cake at all!!! Very excited to help!

Then they got to decorate the cake with me...and yes, they had tons of chocolate chips in the process....Jack isn't hiding that fact very well, is he?

Birthday presents!!! All the aunts, uncles, grandma and grandpa were once again VERY generous as Jack LOVED everything!!! Have I mentioned how spoiled he is?

On a different note, we had some fun visitors last weekend. Melissa, Tom and Liese (2 yrs.) came down from Seattle to visit. Jack and Lauren enjoyed playing with Liese and told me they wish she lived closer...(me too!!) Anyway, I thought this was a cute one of the three amigos in the bathtub. I can't believe this is the only picture I took the entire time they were here. =(

Jack's Eugene Birthday!

We went to Eugene for Jack's actual birthday, as Jason was away on a golfing mancation. I don't know why I am always surprised at how spoiled Jack and Lauern are by their grandparents. The entire weekend was dedicated to making each moment about them and allowing them to have their every wish granted in a moments notice. (Yeah, they were in shock when we got back to Portland as Mom isn't nearly as nice. =)

Everyone went to a miniture golfing and arcade place the afternoon of his birthday. Do you think Jack was a bit excited???

After golf, it was on to the arcade where Lauren drove with her Papa.
And, Jack raced them in his car. Fun times as always!! Jack had such a special birthday in Eugene.

I just can't believe my sweet Jack is already five years old. What a joy he is in our family. Jack is the most sensitive, caring, perceptive, friendly and athletic little boy I have ever met. He tries so hard to do everything correct, and is really hard on himself if something he does goes wrong. He has taught me so much already, and even though time is flying by, I can't wait to see what the future has in store for this talented little one. It is amazing that kindergarten is around the corner. Wow, how I am going to miss him during the day next year... Jack you are the best...I love you!!! Feeling a little silly with his bday hat from school.

Lauren made this card for Jack. He was so sweet to Lauren when he opened it and told her that he could tell she worked very hard on the card and he loved it. Hearing the praise from her older brother, made Lauren's day.

Jack's Bday celebration at Big Als

Oh my where did January go??? I can't believe how quickly it went by. I am way overdue on my blogging and have lots of posts for Jack's 5th birthday. I don't know how my little ones drag their bdays out so long, but Jack had 4 different birthday "parties."
The first bday celebration was at Big Als the weekend before his actual birthday. The Bakers joined us for bowling, fun in the arcade and dinner. It was a wild and crazy night...just how Jack wanted it!
