Playing and singing

We just got back from playing at the Tyacke's house. The kids had a great time. Caden and Jack immediately went upstairs and played in the playroom. Hailey split her time upstairs with the boys and downstairs with Lauren. And, Lauren was content playing downstairs next to me the entire time. It is so nice that the boys are getting old enought to entertain themselves. Lisa and I actually got to chat quite a bit. Here are a few pics from our morning. On the way to the Tyacke's Jack and Lauren were singing in the car, per usual. It is the only time Lauren sings...so, I took a little video of her singing her abcs. (Don't worry, I had one hand on the wheel and my eyes were on the road the entire time. I know it probably wasn't the safest move I have ever made, but I have been trying to get Lauren singing the abcs for the last month.) Oh and one other thing, the first video had to be cut short, because Jack saw some sheep and he got really excited. So, Lauren finished her song in the second video after we said bye to the sheep in the field.

Fin's visit

We had my good friend from GU, Fin, over for dinner last night. She was so great with the kids and they loved her. Here are some pics of her with the kids last night. It was so fun seeing her. Can't wait to see her again in a few weeks!

17 month appointment

Lauren had a check-up at her dr. on Friday. Since she goes to the dr. so frequently, we decided to do a 17 mo. appointment instead of doing a 15 mo. & a 18 mo. She did great, even though she had to get 4 shots. The dr. said that she was such a great patient...one of the best he has ever had. I guess that is the one good thing that has come with all her medical problems. So here are her stats:
31 3/4 inches- 75%
22 lb. 14 oz.- 35%
It cracks me up that Jack was over 23 lbs when he was just 12 months and she hasn't even made it to that weight yet. She is making it easy on me. I can still carry her around without any troubles.
I'm am so glad that the dr. said that she was developing well and she is healthy!

Fire Station

We got to visit a fire station today. My friend, Mallary's husband, is a firefighter in Milwaukie. We had such a fun time getting a tour of the fire house and checking out the fire trucks. All the guys at the station were so nice to the kids. Jack can't stop talking about our fun trip. I bet you'll never guess what he wants to be when he grows up now...Luke and Jack
Riding in the fire truck

Jack, Cooper (Luke's cousin) and Luke

Jack is getting a ride from the fire fighter all dressed up in his gear. Jack thought this was really cool.
About half way through, Lauren wanted to be put down to check everything out.
Standing on the back of the truck
Watching the fire truck head out.
All the kids watching the fire truck leave the station.
Lauren waving bye-bye.
All the boys in the truck. We tried to put the girls in the truck, but Lauren didn't like it at all.
On the way home....Jack told me, "Mommy, I had a really big morning. Now I am tired." Apparently, Lauren felt the same way. She fell asleep on the way home while Jack was holding her hand. Too cute!

Sprinkler Time

We feel so lucky to have such beautiful weather this week. Playing outside, going to the park, having picnics and running through the sprinklers have been our favorites. I will have to come back and look at this post in the next few days as the rain is returning. But, I am so grateful for the time we had outside, and now we are as excited as ever for summer!!!

Lauren looked so cute in her new little swimsuit.

Jack loved filling up his bucket with water and pouring that water in another bucket. He did it for hours. This was his favorite thing to do last summer too.
Lauren just copied Jack and tried to fill up her bucket with water too.

On another note, the other day the kids were playing outside and Lauren came up to the deck with a WORM. She found it and picked it up all by herself. Then she came to show us. She loved her new little pet, but the worm had other ideas about her. She ended up pulling the worm in TWO pieces. Yuck!!!!!

It is so funny that Lauren can be SUCH a girly girl one moment, (like when she is scared of riding tractors at the course or prances around in her dresses) and the next she gets all dirty, finds a worm and rips it in two. I have to admit, I like that she enjoys getting dirty and isn't too prissy.

McKay Creek Golf Course!

Jason aerated the course yesterday, so the kids and I went out to visit him. Since the course was closed, the kids got to kick balls, play golf and help their daddy. They had a great time. It was a perfect day. They both hopped on with Daddy for a ride.

Checking the small pump with Daddy.
Lauren didn't like riding around. It was a bit bumpy for her. She just held on tight!

Jack, on the otherhand, LOVED every moment of it.

While Jack helped Jason, Lauren and I kicked the ball together.
Lauren also liked looking at the pond. When we left, she said, "Bye-bye water."

Jack had so much fun, I think he could have gotten up at 4:00 that morning with Jason and headed to work with him.
"Hi Mommy."
He also got to ride with his Uncle Jeremy.
Lauren might not like riding in tractors, but getting dirty is her thing. Here she is playing in the rocks and dirt, loving every moment of it.
"Look what I found!"
She liked sitting in the tractor when it wasn't running.
After Jack was finished working, he golfed a bit. It was great, because he had the course to himself.
Happy girl.

Can't you just picture him in a few years really golfing?
Lauren even golfed too. The clubs were too heavy for her, but she gave it a great shot.
On the sandy green looking for the hole to put the ball in.
Can you see Jack all the way down the fairway? He would hit and run to his ball over and over. He made it all the way from the tee to the creek. What fun!
After all that work, we had to come home for a picnic lunch.
