Happy Birthday Jason!!!!

Today was a great day as we celebrated Jason's birthday. You all know how much Jason means to all of us in our family. He is the best dad and husband anyone could ask for.
The day started with breakfast in bed...the kids were BIG helpers this morning "helping" me get Jason's breakfast ready. Next, Jason opened presents. The above pic shows one of Jason's gift that I picked out for him while Jack was at school this week. When Jack saw the shirt he thought it was a joke. He told me that "Daddy wouldn't like it because it was pink." He continued to tell me that "Daddy would only like a BLUE shirt." Well, I should have listened to Jack, because we ALL laughed when Jason tried it on. Yeah, not a good look. So much for trying to broaden the colors in Jason's closet. Next time, I will stick to blue, as Jack told me too.
After soccer today, the kids and I made Jason a birthday cake. See how well they helped me?? The only thing they cared about was having some of the cake batter....

...and more cake batter....
...and more!!! Yikes!!
Can you believe this??? Jack got SO messy. I asked Jack why he let himself get cake batter all over. His response, "I wanted to be like Lauren." As you know, Lauren is the one who usually looks like this.

Then we decorated the cake together...and yes, they had more frosting.
After dinner, we enjoyed the cake. I don't even want to think about how much sugar these two had today.
Happy 33rd birthday, Jason! We love you!!!!

Finally my last post about our trip....

Finally, this is it! I have posted SO many pictures from our memorable trip. As you can tell, it was awesome and we all wish we were still there. The amount of pictures I put on the blog was crazy, but I want Jack and Lauren to look back at this one day and remember the great time we had. This last post is just some random pictures I took while we were there.First night there. Jack and Lauren with Nana and Papa.
This pictures says it all! Happy times.

Jack and Lauren with Todd.
I don't know how this picture got in here, but I think it is Amy wiping out on the boogie board.

Lauren loved sitting on Gunnar's lap.

One day the kids made candy leis.
The kids loved the flamingos.
And everyday my mom would take them to talk to the bird. He said a lot of different things. It was pretty cool.

Boogie Boarding and Surfing

Todd heading out to catch some waves.
Amy boogie boarding! Way to go!

Even my dad tried it out.
and Jason
The boys..minus Jeff.
Jack wasn't sure about the ocean at first, but by the end of the trip he was swimming in it.

Jeff on the boogie board.
Gunnar and Jeff catching waves. Everyone in our group except Nana and the kids tried a little boogie boarding. It was a lot of fun.

Pool Time!

We spent many hours in the pool playing. Jack is so independent now and can get around by himself (with his waterwings on). So, some of the time, I could lay in my chair and watch him play. Our hotel had two slides...one small one and another big one. Jack went down both. He was the youngest kid that I saw go down the big slide. He loved it...except for the time that he got turned around and accidently went in backwards. Yeah, that didn't go over very well. But, other than that he loved it...actually so much that he went down it at least 50 times. Wow!!!! Lauren had fun in the pool too. She got a little cold at times, but was fine just sitting by the pool with us. After a bit of coaxing, she went down the little slide. We went down the slide for an entire hour one afternoon. It was great to see her having so much fun!!
Our friends were on Maui the same time as we were, so one morning we met for breakfast and went down to there pool. There was a pirate ship there which was really cool. Lauren had so much fun in that pool. Jack was having a bit of a hard time...he got sunscreen in his eyes which was difficult to come out. But, once we got that washed out he, Lauren and Emma had a fun time sliding down the slide at their pool.

Gunnar, Jack and Jason in the pool. I love that Jason is taking a sip of his drink while in the pool.

We used the boogie board as a surf board in the pool.

Jack and Gunnar playing with our noodle.

Coming down the little slide! Great expressions from both Papa and Jack. My dad would hide under the slide and roar at the kids as they came down. They loved it!!

A big splash as Lauren and I went down the little slide.
2 on 2 basketball in the pool. Jeff showed us all how it was done!
Below are two videos of the slide. The first is to show you how high Jack was when he started. The second shows him coming in the water. Sorry in advance for my screams in the video.
