Poor Jack

Jack had a rough day yesterday. He was hopping along in our kitchen and next thing I hear is Jack crying. When I round the corner to see what happened there is blood everywhere...coming out his nose and his mouth. It was awful. Lauren saw it next. She screamed, cried and ran to the laundry room to hide because she was so tramatized. With both kids screaming and Jason at work, I tried to calm both kiddos while containing the blood streaming from Jack's face. After an hour of crying and the blood finally stopping, Jason came home from work to take Jack to urgent care. The dr. said that there is a 50/50 chance he could lose 3 of his front teeth!! They are loose and Jack has to eat soft food. The poor little guy looks like he has been in a boxing ring. He has blood blisters on is gums, a fat lip and three teeth that could be gone in a few days.
As I have been saying, Jack has had SO much energy this winter. He runs, hops and jumps all the time in the house. This is his second big fall in a month. Now I am going to make him slow down. I don't think I can handle another accident. I just feel SO bad for him.Tough guy...

Fat lip...
After I took the pictures of Jack, Lauren asked, "Mommy, can you take my picture because I am so cute?" No lack of self-confidence from her! =)

Snow!!

Jack Lauren and Jason had a great time this morning playing in the snow. I just took pictures and didn't play...I didn't thinking a fall in the snow would be the best for baby at this point. =)Hard to see, but this was Jason and Jack playing snow baseball. Jack was cracking up as the snow would go everywhere each time he hit it.

Their favorite part was getting pulled by Jason in the sled.

Golfing

We surprised Jason a couple days ago at work. Lauren hasn't been napping regularly and we needed to get out of the house for a bit. The kiddos were so excited to see their daddy and to hit balls. They hit a lot more than I thought they would and seemd to have a great time.

Energy!

Being couped up inside for several months with a five and thre year old has been crazy. The energy these two have some days is unbelievable!!! It has been all I can do to try to find activities to help get their wiggles out. We have played hide and go seek, done obstacle courses and even played soccer and football inside. Whatever it takes some days... Here are some other things we have done to occupy Jack and Lauren the past few weeks. I really hope the weather changes SOON. They are more than ready to run and play outside.
See what I mean? Here we are at Out of this World last week. The kids ran for a couple hours. Thank goodness for that.
As you can tell, Jack has had the most energy out of the two. Some days it is like he just can't contain himself.

Lauren is so brave going down the big slide.
It doesn't look like Jack is having any fun at all, does it?
Then one evening, Jason was heading underneath our house to find plumbing for our bbq. The kids were bouncing off the walls, so he decided to take them down with him. Jack loved it and Lauren was scared.
Jack loved being in charge of the flashlight and was really nice to Lauren when she got scared in the dark.
She isn't too sure about it...

A few nights ago, we met Amy and Todd for dinner. The restaurant had floor shuffleboard that the kids were really into.

And, last but not least, we have dance parties almost every night before bathtime. It looks like they get their dance moves from their mama. Sorry kiddos...it just isn't it your genes.

Happy Valetnines Day

Jack and Lauren really enjoyed Valentines day this year. They had a great time at school exchanging valentines, eating candy and having fun!

Valentine Cards/Park/Soccer

Jack and Lauren were so excited to start their Valentine cards for their classmates this week. After school on Monday, I told the kiddos they could start the cards and we would do a few each day until they got them all finished. I should have known, BOTH of them finished all of their cards on Monday. They loved writing their names, putting stickers on the cards, and putting the candy on top.

It was so nice this week that we went to the park. Oh, we all loved being outside running around...getting A LOT of energy out. I don't know what is going on with Jack (probably the fact that he is a five year old boy who has been stuck inside for several months.) but wow, has that little guy been bouncing off the walls. He is so ready to play outside, ride bikes, and climb trees in our backyard. Hopefully, we will have a nice spring so we can do that SOON!

Lauren's favorite was swinging.
My little monkey...

There was a huge field next to the park and all Jack wanted to do was run the length of it as fast as he could.
Lauren was so tired when she came back from her run!

Jack started a new soccer class recently. He is in a under 7 class that focuses more on the game of soccer and the positions. He is the youngest in the class and has a lot of learning to do. I am so proud of how hard he tries to keep up with the big kids, how well he listens to his coaches and his overall effort. Even though he is the worst in his class (don't mean to be rude, but it is true) he still says he really likes it and understands that most kids are two years older than him.
I tried to get a picture of how small Jack is compared to some of the other boys. Tough to see though...
