Carving Pumpkins

What a great evening it was for us as we carved our pumpkins! Both Jack and Lauren loved it and were each able to carve two pumpkins this year. I was so impressed with Jack, he did it all....cut the top off of the pumpkin, got the "guts" out (after Jason scraped the sides for him), he drew the picture of his jack-o-lantern and then he carved almost the entire thing on his own. (I just had to help with the last little bit of the mouth, because his hand was tired. And, I don't blame him...he used all his might just to carve out each piece.)Jack insisted on doing it on his own.
"Mommy, I am NOT putting my hand in there!"

Pop that top, Jack!!

That's the spirit Lauren.
His jack-o-lantern...Jack wanted both pumpkins to be SCARY!
And, Lauren insisted on making HAPPY jack-o-lanterns. She drew her face all by herself.
Jason and Lauren starting to carve.
What a happy pumpkin, Lauren!
Jack carving his own pumpkin.
Scary!
Lauren's second jack-o-lantern. She wanted it to be half orange/half green. It turned out great.

Lauren wanted to watch Jack's every move as he carved his last pumpkin.
Jack's second jack-o-lantern had included ears and hair.
All lit up! Jack's are on the left and Lauren's are on the right!

Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch!

We went to a Pumpkin Patch with Jack and Lauren's preschool class last week. The weather was perfect. It was so fun for me to watch Jack and Lauren interact with their classmates. Both have made a lot of good friends this year at school.Instead of a hayride...this pumpkin patch had a pirate ship that took them on a ride.
Ahoy Matey! Here they are on the ride.

Listening to Teacher Kathy give directions about finding pumpkins.
Lauren really liked this one.

A playdate at Big Als

We went to Big Al's for a playdate with Caden and Hailey. Wow, what a great spot. Bowling and an arcade. All four of the little ones were loving it. First, we hit the arcade and then we bowled one game. Everyone had such a great time. We love our little friends, Caden and Hailey.Jack and Caden racing hot rods. Their feet barely reached the pedals.
Score!!! Check out all the tickets Jack won. Both Jack and Lauren came home with three different prizes.

Bowling. Jack wanted the blue ball and Lauren had to have the "purplish pinkish" one. Wow, nice pose Lauren!
Jack in action!
The entire group. All of the kiddos are so close in age. It is perfect.
Lauren really enjoyed using the ramp to bowl. To my surprise, she bowled all 10 frames. She didn't get tired of it at all. I can't wait to go back...either can Jack and Lauren.

Lakeview Pumpkin Patch

We went to the pumpkin patch on Saturday afternoon. It was a beautiful day! Jason and I really enjoyed watching Jack and Lauren loving every minute of it. I was so impressed with Lakeview's operation. It was SO crowded, but the longest wait in line was only ten minutes.First activity-a little ride.
We saw how fearless Lauren was the entire day. She was riding this waving, putting her hands up and laughing. On the other hand, her brother held on tight with both hands!!!

Jack wanted the very last one because it would be the bumpiest. Lauren decided to take the front.
On the train ready to get some big pumpkins.

Before we picked out pumpkins, the kiddos rode ponies. Lauren really enjoyed it. She kept reaching down to pet the pony. The guy told us she was a "natural on a horse." Don't really know what that means, but Lauren will NOT be getting a pony for her third birthday.
Jack held on tight the entire time. We told him to pet the pony, but he told us he had to hold on.
Here is Lauren petting her pony.
Jack finding his way through the hay maze.
On the boat after picking out their pumpkins. (Pls. note, Jack would not let go of Jason's hand throughout the boat ride.)
Bigger than last year!

Pumpkin Patch and Last Soccer Game

This morning the kiddos and I headed to Tigard to the pumpkin patch. We had a great time in the hay maze, hay ride and finding the perfect pumpkin. What a beautiful morning it was to be outside! We had the best time!!Lauren finding her way through the hay maze.
Love their smiles!

On the hayride.

Jack found his pumpkin!
Waiting for the hayride back.
Lauren and Nana at Jack's last soccer game.
Jack's last game was kids vs. parents. I wonder who won??? There was lots of laugh and fun during the game. Jack was so excited for this game. He has been talking about it for days.
Oh no...Jack scored on Lauren and me during the game. I can't believe he got around me. After the game, Jack told me that "the kids CRUSHED the parents." Oh my competitive child...don't know where he gets that trait. =)
After the game, there was a pizza party. What a great way to end a fun season of soccer.

Go Beavers!

We spent the weekend in Eugene and went to the Beaver game on Sat. The weather was perfect and we all had lots of fun in Eugene and Corvallis.
Lauren cooking with Nana.

Don't know if her smile could get much bigger.

It's never too young to tailgate.
We had great seats for the game. Jack was really into it this year. He asked Jason so many questions throughout the game. He asked when he could go back to cheer on the beavs.
Lauren had a great time as well. She was on Benny the Beaver patrol. She always had her eyes on him.
