So, we get home from the gym today and since I haven't worked out in so long, I over did it (I know shocking!!!), and I was STARVING! Even though it was 11:30, we were having an early lunch! Yesterday, I promised Jack I would make him quesadillas today for lunch. So, I was in the kitchen trying to make everyone lunch and I hear Jack and Lauren playing together in the living room. (for those who don't know, I can't see the living room from the kitchen.) It sounded like they are having the best time together. I heard laughs and squeals and any other sound that a happy 2 yr old and 10 month old make. While I was making their lunches I was thinking how great my children are and how lucky I am to have them...and so on....you get the picture. So,I go out to tell Jack that his lunch is finally ready. (it took me about 5 min. to prepare Jack and Lauren's lunch) And here is what my monsters, oh I mean precious children, did while I was making their lunches.
Yes, you guessed it, my entire bookshelf was unloaded with cookbooks and picture frames everywhere...thanks monster #1...aka Lauren, and all of the pillows were off of the couch and the curtains were closed....thanks monster #2...aka Jack...aka the ring leader. My question is, how could they have accomplished this feat in just 5 minutes? The experts say that children have little attention spans etc., but this proves that theory wrong. They were focused...driven...determined to make as big of a mess as they could in such a little amount of time. So, instead of looking at this as yet another mess for me to clean up, I am choosing to look at the positive. My lovely children are very determined and focused little angels. =)
