It is so difficult for me to keep up on blogging these days. Most of the time I don't sit down until after the kids are in bed. So, I decided in the next few posts to give an update on each little one in our family.
*Disclaimer: I will be bragging about my kiddos in the next few blog posts, please disregard these posts if you don't want to listen to me go on and one about how awesome my children are! =)
Our little Jack isn't so little anymore. He is six and almost finished with kindergarten!!! I can't believe how much he has grown this year.
1. Jack is into anything and everything sports these days. At school recess it is either basketball, football, or soccer. He just finished indoor soccer. I am not one to brag about my kids, (well, I try not to anyway) but Jack is a really good soccer player. He is now really aggressive and not scared to bump his opponents around a bit. This allows him to get the ball and use his dribbling skills to either pass or score. He was really upset when soccer ended last month, but I had slow things down a bit for him. It was turning into an activity every night and I am just not ready for that! Jack is now doing coach pitch baseball. He works really hard and stays focused throughout the game. He likes to field grounders and hit. We are really working on his throw. =) He also loves to ride his bike, swim and use his scooter. This summer should be fun for him!
2. Jack loves being social. With at least one playdate a week, Jack gets along well with his friends. They usually play sports or play outside in our backyard. It is fun to see him with his friends.
3. School is one of Jack's weekly highlights! He is doing so well in school. His teacher says he follows the rules (shocking-NOT...he is a typical first child who is a people-pleaser.) He is doing well academically. He has been working on his reading and is excited to finish a 50 book reading log. Once he finished his log, we told him he could choose any activity or place to play for an afternoon. Once we ruled out his first two choices (Disneyland and Hawaii---wow, the kiddo aims high) he chose Big Als. I am sure we will be there within the month! He is proud of himself and his reading abilities. He is currently enrolled in "Mad Scince" after school once a week. He has enjoyed the experiments!
4. Jack is a great big brother. Lauren and Jack play so well together. He plays with Charlie as well, but he does that when I ask him to help me.
5. Jack has more responsibilities at home. He gets himself completely ready for school in the morning and is expected to make his bed each morning....unless he sleeps in past seven o'clock. Yes, this is shameless bribery, but do you blame me? He is usually up by 6:00 each day, and so excited for the day to start. He also helps clear the table after meals.
6, Lastly, Jack continues to make us smile. We are so proud of him and love the little man he is turning into. He has the sweetest demeanor and is truly a kind, sensitive and caring boy. Obviously, we love him to pieces!

Loved your update on the kiddos! Kudos to you and Jase for doing such a great job raising such smart, caring, well-rounded little people! I cracked up that Jack requested Hawaii or Dland as his reading reward - smart kid! Miss you guys.
