Great Weekend!

Another great weekend just came and went....wow, don't they go fast?? Friday, Bud and Shannon came over for dinner. They played games with the kids for a while before bedtime. Jack was having a great time playing boardgames with our guests. Saturday, we went to the MacDonald's for dinner. Jack and Maren play soccer together and have developed a fun relationship. They played a ton, (Jack even dressed up in a tutu. Daddy was proud of that one!) and Luke and Lauren played together too. When we go to new places, sometimes Lauren has a hard time warming up, but on Sat. she was the first one to start running around playing with toys. Each month, you can see just how much better she is doing and how big she is getting. It is amazing watching her develop into a little girl. Where did my baby go?This was taken before church on Sunday. Jack picked out his outfit and dressed himself. Talk about getting big. He was SO proud of himself and although, this wasn't the "church" outfit I had in mind, there was no way I was going to make him dress-up after his reaction to this outfit.
Lauren wanted to be held by Daddy, so I wouldn't take yet another picture of her.

Throughout the winter, Jack has talked about having a picnic outside. Whenever the sun is out, even when it is 30 degrees, he asks if we can eat outside. Finally, yesterday, I didn't have to deny him his request. Here are the kids eating lunch outside. I made smoothies for them that they loved as well. It was a good way for them to cool-off.
Just say "cheese"

Lauren loves the structure right now. She can climb up and slide down all on her own now.

Nice batting stance, Jack.
At the end of last summer, I thought that Jack would be right-handed when doing fine motor activities and be left-handed during gross motor activities. He even has left-handed golf clubs! But, now he seems to have switched again. While playing baseball yesterday, he preferred swinging right-handed. He likes to keep us on our toes~that is for sure. Maybe by the end of this summer, he will decide on one side.

Lauren even hit some balls. She actually did pretty good.

Everything changed when we let the kids play in the water. They loved it!!! And, got ALL wet.
Jack helping Daddy put sand and seed in the yard. He loves helping Jason "work" in the yard.
Lauren got so wet playing in the water, we had to take her shirt off.
Do you see the band-aid on Jack's knee? The poor guy skinned his knee yesterday. I felt bad for him, but he cried FOREVER about his knee. It was like he broke an arm or something. Then we put a band-aid on it, and he screamed that his band-aid hurt him. We heard about this for about an hour and he finally stopped whining about it....instead, he just limped around everywhere. Wow~I have never seen more drama before. =)
Lauren's day wasn't pain-free either. We let her walk around on our deck without shoes and she had a least 15 slivers in one foot. Jason and I got most of them out, but the poor thing was screaming and crying so much while we were doing it. Poor thing...I am off to buy sandals today.

Nice look, huh? Jack wanted to take his wet clothes off too. Then he decided to dunk his head in the bucket of ice cold water. Brrrr!
One day, he will kill me for posting these pics on my blog.

All wet.
We ended our fun Sunday with dinner outside. Sunny days are the best!
