Independence....
I know that all the parent books tell you that "your 3 year old will go through an independent stage and that we, as parents, should encourage it." I read this valuable info all the time and actually really agree with it. The books say that as our little three year olds gain independence they start to choose their own activities, what they want to eat and even what they wear each day. Sounds simple enough, right?
Why don't the books ever tell us that this is what usually happens when children gain independence? At least it always keeps us on our toes AND laughing, right?
