Saying Goodbye

Today was a sad day. My Uncle Clark died on Sunday and his funeral was today. It was so nice to see the entire extended family, but I sure wish it was under different circumstances.
The past few weeks during prayers with Jack, we have been saying "special prayers" for Clark. One night, I told Jack that Clark would be going to heaven to see Jesus soon. Jack then asked me if Jesus was sick too. I said no Jesus was excited to see Clark. Then Jack said that he thought that Jesus would give Clark a big hug when he saw him in heaven. I agreed and thought about that a lot today during the funeral. I often wonder how 3 year olds can have such strong and profound statements at such a young age?
Of course I couldn't have the kids all dressed up without taking a few pictures before we left this morning. Here are the kids looking cuter than ever...

Look at how grown up Jack looks. He is such a handsome little guy!

They even posed the same for this one.
They were so well behaved today...even without taking naps. I'm sure Uncle Clark had a hand in that. This is the first time that Lauren made it all day without a nap, and wow, was I impressed with how they acted all day.

I'm so sorry about your uncle, Molly. Those kinds of things are so hard, you did such a good job explaining it to Jack.
The kids look ADORABLE all dressed up! I can totally picture Jack 25 years from now all slicked up at his own wedding... to CLAIRE! Haha!
See you guys soon,
Jill (& Claire, leaning over my shoulder)
